He graduated from Kyungpook National University with a degree in electronic engineering, earned a master’s degree in metallurgical engineering from Hanyang University Graduate School, and received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Nagoya University in Japan.
He previously served as head of the Manufacturing Center at Samsung Electronics’ System LSI Division and led both the small and medium-to-large battery divisions at Samsung SDI. After serving as an advisor at Samsung SDI, he joined Wonik IPS in 2022 as head of the Semiconductor Research Center and president.
In January 2024, he was appointed CEO of Wonik IPS.
Since taking office, he has reorganized the company’s research, development, and production capabilities to strengthen organizational competitiveness, focusing on enhancing global competitiveness.
He is recognized for his balanced expertise in technology and management across both the semiconductor and battery industries.
