Cha Won-tae is Vice Chairman of the CHA Bio Group and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) of CHA Biotech.

He was born on June 24, 1980, as the son of Cha Kwang-ryul, Chairman of the Global Comprehensive Research Institute and founder of the CHA Hospital Bio Group.

He graduated from the Department of Biological Anatomy at Duke University in the United States and received a master’s degree in public health from Yale University. He completed an MBA program at the MIT Sloan School of Management and earned a Ph.D. in health science from Yonsei University Graduate School.

He joined CHA Hospital Bio Group. He served as Head of Global Strategy Planning and Chief Operating Officer of CHA Health System, a subsidiary of CHA Healthcare System, and as Chief Operating Officer of CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, before being promoted to CEO of CHA Health System.

He served as President of CHA University of Science, and in September 2025, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the CHA Bio Group.

As a third-generation owner stepping fully into management, he must prove his management capabilities as the right leader to create future value and performance for the CHA Bio Group.
