Life Summary
Chang In-hwa is the CEO and Chairman of POSCO Holdings.

He is working to strengthen the competitiveness of the secondary battery material business along with the steel business to drive a new leap for the POSCO Group.

He was born on August 17, 1955.

He graduated from Gyeonggi High School in Seoul and the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Seoul National University.

He earned a master's degree in naval architecture and ocean engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering at Seoul National University and a doctorate in ocean engineering from the University of Massachusetts, USA.

After joining POSCO, he served in various roles including Director of the Steel Structure Research Center at the Pohang Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (RIST), Head of the New Business Department in the Growth Investment Division, Head of the New Business Management Office in the Finance and Investment Division, and Head of the Steel Solution Marketing Department in the Steel Business Division. He also worked as Head of the Technology Investment Division and Director of the Technology Research Institute.

While serving as Head of the Steel Production Division, he was appointed as CEO in 2018 and took charge of the steel division.

Although he was shortlisted in the chairman selection process, he did not secure the position and left the company. However, he returned in 2024 as the CEO and Chairman of POSCO Holdings.

He is known as a compassionate leader who unites internal members and is focused on restoring the competitiveness of the steel business, the company's mainstay.
