He graduated from Seongdong High School in Seoul and earned a degree in Business Administration from Korea University.
Within Hyundai Motor Group, he is regarded as one of the leading experts in labor relations.
Before becoming CEO, he served as head of Kia’s Labor Support Division for more than six years, the longest tenure in the company’s history for that position.
In November 2024, he was promoted to president during Hyundai Motor Group’s executive reshuffle.
