Chung Eui-sun is the Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group.
He is working to transform Hyundai Motor Group into a comprehensive smart mobility solutions company and is focusing on expanding the hydrogen ecosystem.
He was born in Seoul on October 18, 1970, as the youngest child among three daughters and one son of Chung Mong-koo, Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group.
He graduated from Whimoon High School in Seoul and the Department of Business Administration at Korea University. He completed an MBA program at the Graduate School of Business at the University of San Francisco (USF) in the United States.
After joining Hyundai Precision & Industry, he studied in the United States and then worked at the New York branch of Japan’s Itochu Corporation.
He served as Deputy Head of Hyundai Motor’s Domestic Sales Division and Deputy Head of the Planning and Coordination Division of Hyundai-Kia Motors, before being appointed CEO of Kia Motors in 2005.
As interest in autonomous driving grows among the industry and consumers, he faces the challenge of accelerating the pace of related technology development.
