Chung Tae-young is Vice Chairman and CEO of Hyundai Card and also serves as CEO of its affiliate, Hyundai Commercial.

He has been leading Hyundai Card’s transformation into a financial technology company, strengthening its competitiveness in data and digital capabilities. His vision is to establish the company as a “global data platform enterprise” based on a technology strategy centered on finance.

He was born on April 11, 1960, in Seoul as the eldest son of Chung Kyung-jin, founder of Jongno Academy. After graduating from Korea University High School, he earned a degree in French literature from Seoul National University and later completed an MBA program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.

He began his career as Director of Planning at Hyundai Trading Company, then served as Head of the Americas branch and Mexico branch at Hyundai Precision. He later became Head of Planning and Finance at Hyundai Mobis and Head of Purchasing at Kia Motors.

After moving to Hyundai Card as Executive Vice President, he was promoted to President and appointed CEO of Hyundai Card, Hyundai Capital, and Hyundai Commercial. In 2021, he stepped down from his role as CEO of Hyundai Capital.

At Hyundai Card, he has introduced innovative management practices and actively pursued cultural marketing initiatives.

He is married to Chung Myung-yi, President of Hyundai Commercial and the second daughter of Chung Mong-koo, Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group.
