Ham Young-joo is the Chairman and CEO of Hana Financial Group.
He has focused his efforts on enhancing shareholder returns and increasing corporate value. His top priority is to strengthen the group’s capacity for sustainable value creation.
He was born on November 10, 1956, in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province.
He graduated from Kangkyung Commercial High School in South Chungcheong Province and earned a degree in Accounting from the night school program at Dankook University.
After graduating from high school, he joined Seoul Bank, where he served as an analyst in the Corporate Analysis Department, deputy branch manager of the Sales Department, and branch manager of the Suji Branch. After Seoul Bank was merged into Hana Bank, he held key positions including branch manager of the Bundang Central Branch, head of Household Sales Promotion, and head of several regional headquarters. In 2015, he was appointed president and CEO of the merged entity KEB Hana Bank, created by the merger of Hana Bank and Korea Exchange Bank.
He was named Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group in 2016 and reappointed as president of KEB Hana Bank in 2017. In 2022, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Hana Financial Group and successfully secured another term in March 2025.
He has also served as Chairman of the Hana Financial Group Foundation and as the owner of Daejeon Hana Citizen Football Club.
He has consistently delivered strong performance in sales based on his diligence and integrity.
He is committed to expanding the group’s global business with the goal of becoming the top financial group in Asia, while also strengthening the group’s non-banking affiliates.
He is known as a benevolent leader, with a gentle personality and strong interpersonal skills.
