Harold Rogers is Coupang’s interim CEO. He also serves as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel (CAO & General Counsel) of U.S.-based parent company Coupang Inc.
An expert in the legal and compliance field, he is responsible for crisis management and resolution, and is known within Coupang as “Kim Beom-seok’s right-hand man.”
He was born in 1977.
He majored in English literature at Brigham Young University (BYU) in the United States and earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law School.
After working as a partner attorney specializing in corporate litigation and regulatory response at the law firm Sidley Austin LLP, he served as Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at global telecommunications company Millicom.
He joined Coupang Inc. in January 2020 and worked as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel (CAO & General Counsel), before being appointed CEO of Coupang Korea in December 2025.
When a customer data leak incident broke out, Kim Beom-seok, the owner who serves as Chairman of Coupang Inc.’s U.S. headquarters, put him forward as Coupang’s interim CEO.
He has taken on the task of normalizing the company by managing the situation and easing customer concerns.
However, he has been criticized for further fueling public backlash against Coupang by making remarks that ignored Korean public sentiment and openly expressing dissatisfaction during a National Assembly hearing.
