Hector Villarreal is the CEO of GM Korea.
A Mexican national, his full name is Hector Raul Villarreal Gonzalez.
He is focusing on expanding investment in South Korea while securing annual production capacity of 500,000 vehicles.
He was born in Mexico on September 18, 1967.
He graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) with a degree in mechanical engineering and received a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the same university’s graduate school.
He joined General Motors' Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico and worked as a production project engineer before taking executive roles in planning and program management.
He later joined GM Korea as Vice President of Planning and Program Management.
After moving to become President of GM Uzbekistan, he served as a senior executive overseeing GM Russia, President of GM Southeast Asia, and Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing for GM Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
He was appointed CEO of GM Korea in 2023.
After taking office as CEO, he significantly increased GM Korea’s revenue and operating profit.
