Huh Tae-soo is the Chairman of GS Group and also serves as CEO of the group’s holding company, GS.

He is pursuing future growth engines for GS Group in the areas of climate change response, resource circulation, and the bio industry.

Born on November 8, 1957, in Busan, he is the youngest of five sons of Huh Joon-goo, Honorary Chairman of LG Construction.

He graduated from Seoul Jungang High School and the Department of Law at Korea University, and later earned an MBA from the George Washington University School of Business in the United States.

After working at Continental Bank and Irving Bank, he served as Managing Director of the IB Division and the Strategic Planning Division at LG Investment & Securities.

He later joined GS Home Shopping, where he became Executive Vice President in charge of Management Support, and in 2007, he was appointed President and CEO.

In 2019, he became Chairman of GS Group when his elder brother, former Chairman Huh Chang-soo, stepped down.

He values practicality and efficiency over formality and protocol, and is known for being approachable and hardworking.

He emphasizes innovation driven by artificial intelligence technology and digital transformation.

Through the appointment of key executives at major affiliates, he is laying the foundation for GS Group’s fourth-generation leadership.
