He began his career as a researcher at Daegu Bank’s Financial and Economic Research Institute and later served as head of the DGB Management Consulting Center, head of the Corporate Management Consulting Center, and manager of the Bonri-dong Branch.

After Kim Tae-oh took office as Chairman of DGB Financial Group, Hwang moved to the holding company, where he held key posts including Chief of Staff, Head of Management Support, Head of Group Future Planning, and Head of Group Sustainability Management, while also serving as Director of the ESG Strategy and Management Research Institute.

In 2023, he was appointed President of Daegu Bank (now iM Bank), and in 2024 he became Chairman of DGB Financial Group (now iM Financial Group).

In December 2024, he was reappointed as President of iM Bank, extending his dual role as both President of the bank and Chairman of the holding company for another year.

He places great importance on communication and is quick to adapt to change.
