Jang Dong-hyeok is the leader of the People Power Party.
He is working to strengthen the party’s fight against the opposition and to boost its approval ratings. He is also focused on laying the foundation for victory in the 2026 local elections.
He was born on June 2, 1969, in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province.
He graduated from Daecheon High School in South Chungcheong and went on to earn a degree in French Education from the College of Education at Seoul National University.
After passing the 35th Higher Civil Service Examination, he worked as an education administration officer. He later passed the 43rd Bar Examination and served as a judge and lawyer.
He was elected in a by-election for Boryeong and Seocheon, South Chungcheong, during the 21st National Assembly election, and secured re-election in the same constituency in the 22nd general election.
He has served as the party’s spokesperson for the National Assembly, secretary general, senior spokesperson for the Assembly, supreme council member, and head of the Situation Room for the People Power Party’s presidential election campaign committee in the 21st presidential election.
In the National Assembly, he has also worked as secretary of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee.
