Jeong Chul-dong is the President and CEO of LG Display.

He is focusing the company’s capabilities on strengthening competitiveness in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) to counter the low-cost offensive of Chinese companies leading with liquid crystal displays (LCDs).

He is also working on developing various display solutions such as transparent OLEDs.

He was born on May 11, 1961.

He graduated from Daeryun High School in Daegu and earned a degree in electronic engineering from Kyungpook National University. He later studied electronic engineering at the Graduate School of Chungbuk National University.

He began his career at LG Semicon and went on to serve as Managing Director of Production Technology at LG Philips LCD. At LG Display, he held positions as Managing Director and Senior Managing Director of the Production Technology Center, and later served as Executive Vice President and Chief Production Officer (CPO).

He was promoted to President of LG Chem’s Information Electronic Materials Division, where he stabilized the glass substrate and water treatment filter businesses at an early stage.

In 2019, he was appointed President and CEO of LG Innotek.

In 2023, he was appointed President and CEO of LG Display.

He is focusing on cost innovation and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve LG Display’s performance.
