Chung Cheol-dong is president and CEO of LG Display.

He is focusing his capabilities on strengthening competitiveness in organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays to counter the low-price offensive of Chinese companies.

He is working to develop various display solutions, including transparent OLED displays.

He was born on May 11, 1961.

He graduated from Daeryun High School in Daegu and Kyungpook National University with a degree in electronic engineering. He studied electronic engineering at the graduate school of Chungbuk National University.

He began his career at LG Semiconductor.

He moved to LG.Philips LCD, where he served as managing director in charge of production technology, and later worked at LG Display as head of the Production Technology Center and executive vice president and chief production officer (CPO).

After serving as head of LG Chem’s Information and Electronic Materials Business Division, he was appointed CEO of LG Innotek in 2019.

He has served as CEO of LG Display since December 2023.
