Kang Ho-Dong is the chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF).
He is striving to increase farm household income through change and innovation centered on regional agricultural cooperatives.
To overcome the challenges facing rural communities, he has proposed the concept of “Dongjugongje (同舟共濟),” which emphasizes solidarity and mutual support within the broader NACF network.
He was born on October 25, 1963, in Hapcheon County, South Gyeongsang Province.
He graduated from Hapcheon High School in South Gyeongsang and studied Tax Accounting at Daegu Mirae College. He also attended the Graduate School of Business Administration at NongHyup University.
He began his career at the Yulgok Agricultural Cooperative in Hapcheon, South Gyeongsang, in 1987, later serving as managing director and being elected cooperative president five times.
He also served as a board member of the NACF and The Farmers Newspaper.
Although he lost the 2020 NACF chairmanship election to former chairman Lee Sung-hee, he ran again in 2024 and was elected.
Having held various posts in both regional agricultural cooperatives and the NACF headquarters, he is well-versed in the practical operations of the organization.
