He was born in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, on July 15, 1971.

He graduated from Suncheon High School in South Jeolla Province and Seoul National University with a degree in sociology.

He joined the finance team of LG Cable (now LS Cable & System) after being recruited through LG Group's open recruitment program.

He served as head of the Management Support Division and head of the Strategic Planning Division at LS Cable & System, as well as head of the Management Support Headquarters and chief strategy officer (CSO).

He was appointed co-CEO of LS Marine Solution in late 2024 and led the company alongside Koo Bon-kyu, a member of the controlling family. He became sole CEO in March 2026.

He led the company to record-high results in the first half of 2026.

He is working to establish a vertically integrated synergy structure within the group, linking LS Cable & System (cable manufacturing), LS Marine Solution (submarine cable installation), and LS Buildwin (underground cable installation).
