Kim E-bae is the President and CEO of Jeju Air.
He is preparing to compete with the upcoming “integrated LCC” (low-cost carrier) that will emerge following the merger of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
He was born on December 10, 1965, in Jangheung, South Jeolla Province.
He graduated from Jangheung High School and the Department of International Economics at Seoul National University.
He joined Asiana Airlines in 1988 when the company was founded and worked there for more than 30 years. He served as Executive Officer of Strategic Planning, Head of the Americas Regional Headquarters, Head of Management Division, and later as Head of Strategic Planning Division.
In 2020, he was appointed Executive Vice President and CEO of Jeju Air.
He strengthened Jeju Air’s business capabilities amid the COVID-19 crisis through a rights offering and expansion of international routes.
He pursues pragmatism and values communication with employees.
