Kim Jong-hoon is Chairman of HanmiGlobal.

He was born on September 24, 1949, in Geochang, South Gyeongsang Province.

He graduated from Seoul National University High School and went on to earn a degree in architecture from Seoul National University.

He completed the MBA program at Sogang University Graduate School of Business and finished the doctoral coursework in architecture at Seoul National University Graduate School.

He began his career at Hansem Architecture Research Institute and Halla Engineering & Construction, later serving as project director in Kuwait for Hanyang and in Malaysia for Samsung Construction (now the Engineering & Construction Division of Samsung C&T), building extensive overseas experience.

In 1996, he founded HanmiParsons (now HanmiGlobal), a joint venture with U.S.-based Parsons.

He was the first in Korea to introduce construction management (CM/PM) practices, helping to advance and modernize the nation’s construction industry.

He has served as Vice Chairman of the Korea CM Association and the Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management. He is also a lifetime member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea.
