Born on January 10, 1957 in Seoul.
He graduated from Kyungdong High School and Barratt University's Department of Business Administration, and graduated from the University of Missouri's Graduate School of Business.
He received a doctorate in business administration from the University of Georgia, USA.
He worked in the financial sector, working in academia, private research institutes, the Financial Supervisory Service, and KB Kookmin Bank.
He served as an expert member of the Korea Institute of Taxation, the head of the research coordination office at the Korea Insurance Development Institute, and the assistant director of the Financial Supervisory Service.
He worked as a professor at the Department of International Business at Chungbuk National University and served as a director of KorEI, an outside director of KB Kookmin Bank, and an outside director of LG Fire & Marine Insurance (now KB Insurance).
He moved to the position of Senior Vice President and Vice President of Strategic Group at KB Kookmin Bank, where he was in charge of planning for the establishment of KB Kookmin Bank holding company.
He served as CEO of JB Asset Management and is serving a second term after being appointed as CEO and Chairman of JB Financial Holding.
His tenacious management is characteristic. Although he shows an aggressive work style that is enough to be called a ‘bulldozer’, he is also good at communication.
