After graduating from Gyeonggi Science High School, he studied chemistry at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). He later earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

He worked as a senior researcher at global biotechnology companies including Agilent Technologies and BioTrove.

While serving as a researcher at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) under Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), he developed DropArray technology and went on to establish Curiox Biosystems in Singapore in 2008. In 2018, he relocated the company’s headquarters to Korea.

As a scientist-turned-entrepreneur, he has built over 20 years of experience in research and development as well as in managing technology-driven businesses.

He is recognized for his drive and strategic vision, particularly for setting and expanding new standards in cell analysis automation.
