Kim Sang-tae is the CEO of Shinhan Securities.
After Co-CEO Lee Young-chang stepped down at the end of his term in late 2022, Kim has been overseeing the company as the sole CEO. Following Shinhan Financial Investment's rebranding to Shinhan Securities, the company declared a "second founding" and is focusing on brand reestablishment and enhancing customer-centric management.
He was born on February 10, 1965, in Daegu.
He graduated from Daegu High School and earned a degree in Business Administration from Korea University.
Kim started his career at KDB Daewoo Securities, where he served as Head of Corporate Finance and Head of Equity Underwriting.
He then moved to Meritz Securities, where he became Head of the IB Business Division, and later headed the Corporate Finance Department at Eugene Investment & Securities before returning to KDB Daewoo Securities to lead the Investment Banking (IB) business.
During the merger of Mirae Asset Securities and KDB Daewoo Securities, he served as the head of the Investment Banking division until he was appointed CEO of Shinhan Securities in 2022.
