Kwak Jae-sun is chairman of KG Group. He also serves as CEO of KG Mobility.

He is focusing on improving KG Mobility’s operating profit by expanding its electric vehicle lineup and exports.

He was born in Daejeon on January 15, 1959.

He graduated from Incheon National University with a degree in mechanical engineering and completed an MBA program at Sungkyunkwan University’s Graduate School of Business.

After graduating from a commercial high school, he worked in the finance department of a construction company before co-founding industrial plant construction company Seil Engineering in 1985.

He rapidly expanded his business by acquiring and reviving financially troubled companies through mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Starting with Kyunggi Chemical, he acquired Sihwa Energy, Yellow Cap, Zeroin, Woongjin Passone, Edaily, Inicis, Eduone, KFC Korea, Dongbu Steel and SsangYong Motor, among others, restoring their operations and expanding the group’s scale.

He demonstrates strong drive and execution, pushing ahead without hesitation once he makes a decision.
