Lee Byung-rhae is the Chairman of the General Insurance Association of Korea.

He is focusing his efforts on supporting the introduction of innovative products such as climate insurance and subscription services, strengthening the management of non-covered medical expenses, and ensuring the stable implementation of the digital claims system for indemnity health insurance.

He was born on May 5, 1964, in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province.

He graduated from Daejeon High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Trade from Seoul National University. He went on to obtain a master’s degree in Public Administration from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Missouri in the United States.

He passed the 32nd Higher Civil Service Examination and began his career at the Ministry of Finance before transferring to the Financial Supervisory Commission.

At the Financial Services Commission, he served as Director of the Insurance Division, Director of the Financial Policy Division, Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank of Mongolia, and Spokesperson.

He later served as Commissioner of the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit, President of the Korea Securities Depository, and Vice President for External Affairs at the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
