Life Summary
Lee Chun-hyuk is the chairman and CEO of Dongjin Semichem.

He leads Dongjin Semichem, the top photoresist company in South Korea, and has played a central role in localizing key materials for advanced semiconductors.

Born on May 26, 1967, he is the second son of the late Lee Boo-sub, the founder of Dongjin Semichem.

Lee graduated from Myeongji High School and earned a degree in chemical engineering from Seoul National University. He later obtained a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

After receiving his doctorate, he returned to Korea and joined his father’s company, Dongjin Semichem. He started as an executive director in charge of new projects and was promoted to CEO in 2008. In 2025, he was elevated to chairman.

He gained industry attention after successfully localizing core photoresist technologies in response to Japan’s export restrictions on key materials, thereby contributing to the independence of Korea’s semiconductor industry.

Lee has held leadership roles including vice chairman of the Korea Display Industry Association, vice chairman of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, and chairman of the World Class Company Association.

He is currently focused on securing new growth engines through the development of next-generation semiconductor materials such as secondary battery components and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) photoresists.
