Lee Myung-soon is President and CEO of SGI Seoul Guarantee.

He was born on July 19, 1968, in Uiryeong, South Gyeongsang Province.

He graduated from Daeryun High School in Daegu and Seoul National University with a degree in economics. He earned a master’s degree in international development policy from Duke University in the United States.

He entered public service after passing the 36th Higher Civil Service Examination. A former financial bureaucrat, he served in positions including Director General for Financial Industry Restructuring at the Financial Services Commission, Standing Commissioner of the Securities and Futures Commission, and Senior Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service.

In 2024, he was recruited as President and CEO of SGI Seoul Guarantee.

He laid the foundation for recovering public funds through the company’s long-awaited initial public offering.

He faces the task of demonstrating solid growth by achieving a business rebound, establishing a return on equity of 10%, strengthening internal controls, and improving digital stability.

He also serves as Chair of the Association of Guarantee and Credit Insurance of Asia (AGCIA).
