She was born on September 20, 1973, as the second daughter among the four children—one son and three daughters—of the late Lee Kun-hee, former Chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Hong Ra-hee, former Director of the Leeum Museum of Art.

She graduated from Seoul Arts High School and Parsons School of Design in New York, the United States.

She joined Cheil Industries as a manager at the Fashion Research Institute and later served as manager of the Fashion Division Planning Team before being promoted to Executive Vice President in charge of planning.

She subsequently served as Executive Vice President in charge of Management Strategy for the Fashion Division at Cheil Worldwide and Executive Vice President in charge of Management Planning for the Fashion Division at Cheil Industries. In 2014, she was promoted to President in charge of Management Planning for the Fashion Division at Samsung Everland, President and Head of the Management Strategy Division at Cheil Worldwide, and President in charge of Management Planning for the Fashion Division at Cheil Industries.

She later became President and Head of the Fashion Division of the integrated Samsung C&T.

Amid weak business performance and limited results from new business initiatives, she stepped down as part of a management reshuffle and moved to positions as Chair of the Operating Committee of the Leeum Museum of Art and Chair of the Samsung Welfare Foundation.

In March 2024, she returned to frontline management as President and Head of Strategic Planning at Samsung C&T.
