Oh Ik-geun is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Daishin Securities.
Since Daishin Securities’ transition into a comprehensive financial investment business, he has focused on positioning the company among Korea’s leading investment banks (IB).
He was born on July 16, 1963, in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, as the son of a military officer.
He graduated from Chuncheon High School and earned a degree in economics from Kyung Hee University.
He joined Daishin Securities in 1987 and went on to hold various key positions, including Head of Sales Promotion, Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, and Risk Management. He later served as CEO of Daishin Savings Bank and Executive Vice President in charge of Management Support at Daishin Securities.
With experience across the full spectrum of the securities business, he has an in-depth understanding of the industry.
He was appointed President and CEO of Daishin Securities, succeeding Na Jae-chul, who left the post to become Chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association.
Since 2020, he has served as CEO, making him one of the company’s longest-serving leaders.
In 2024, he successfully transformed Daishin Securities into a comprehensive financial investment business operator.
He is now focused on expanding the company’s capital base to meet the requirements for entering the top-tier investment banking sector and securing approval to issue short-term financing instruments.
