Life Summary
Song Eon-seog is the floor leader of the People Power Party.

He is focusing all his efforts on restoring party unity after the presidential election defeat while keeping the newly launched Lee Jae-myung administration in check.

He was born on May 16, 1963, in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.

He graduated from Kyungpook High School in Daegu and earned his bachelor’s degree in law from Seoul National University. He also received a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University and later earned both a master’s and a doctoral degree in economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

After passing the 29th Higher Civil Service Examination, he mainly worked at the Ministry of Planning and Budget.

He was first elected to the National Assembly in the by-election for Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, during the 20th general election, and has since served three consecutive terms, including the 22nd general election.

Within the People Power Party, he has served as chief secretary to the Emergency Response Committee Chair, senior deputy floor leader, and secretary of the Steering Committee. In the National Assembly, he currently serves as chair of the Strategy and Finance Committee.
