He was born on November 19, 1961.
He graduated from Yeongdeungpo High School in Seoul and majored in business administration at Sogang University. He completed an MBA program at Yonsei University Graduate School of Business.
After joining Samchully, he worked in charge of strategic planning at the Management Strategy Office.
After serving as head of the District Energy Business Division, head of the Resources and Environment Business Headquarters and head of the Business Development Headquarters, he became CEO of S-Power in 2011, a joint venture with Korea South-East Power and POSCO Engineering & Construction.
He returned to Samchully and served as head of the Strategic Planning Office and head of the Future Strategy Headquarters before being appointed CEO of subsidiary Samchully ES.
He was appointed CEO of Samchully in 2017. He also serves as chairman of the board.
He is diversifying the business beyond city gas by expanding into fuel cells and electric vehicles, selling imported cars and investing in the food business.
