Ray Zhang (Zhang Rui) is the CEO of AliExpress Korea.

He has been strengthening AliExpress’s presence in the Korean market through a Korean-style localization strategy and the “K-Venue” initiative.

He was born in China on February 21, 1988.

He graduated from Fudan University with a degree in electronic engineering and earned a master’s degree in software engineering from the same university.

He previously served as Director of the Data Operations Team at the Chinese startup Yuntu and as Business Management Director at the U.S. online shopping mall Newegg.

He later joined China’s Alibaba Group, where he led the company’s Russian operations before being appointed CEO (Head of Korea Office) of AliExpress Korea in 2018.

At the young age of 30, he took on the role of leading the Korean branch, dedicating the past seven years to expanding the commerce network and fostering young talent.

He is also deeply interested in intellectual property rights and consumer protection.
